There's always a yarn project running through my head. Sometimes I need to let it out!

Two-Face Triangle Shawl - Free Pattern Friday

It was a short week, but still so busy!  I've been trying to catch up on work and home.  My garden has been planted and everything is growing beautifully!  I've noticed a few leaves are being eaten though.  I was talking to my neighbor who is a wonderful gardener and she has noticed slugs in her garden and thinks it's the same in mine.  EW!!!  That needs to be remedied.

Anyway....I do have time for another free pattern!!!

Today's free pattern for Free Pattern Friday is Two-Face.  I saw this picture and immediately knew I had to share this.  I love this!  It's such a simple idea, but the look is so bold!

I love the small touch of the lacy holes down the center.  I love the colors that they chose, but this would also be cool in a black and white or light gray and dark gray.  They combinations are endless!

O for Organic free dishcloth pattern

Whoa!  It's been a little crazy lately.  I'm glad it's a 3 day weekend.  I could surely use it!

Today's free pattern is for a round dishcloth.  I love making dishclothes.  They're useful and easy to make.  When testing out new patterns, I find myself making a dishcloth size object to see how the pattern works with the yarn.  They're great for your own kitchen or for hostess gifts.  I love giving them at baby showers.  They are great as baby washclothes.

This is the O for Organic pattern.

Crazy!  I love how it comes out perfectly round.  That's harder to figure out than it looks, so congrats to the author for mastering it!
Here's another one.

I'll have to make one or two or ten of these.  Love them!

Have a wonderful Memorial Day!!

Felted Block Pillow - Free Pattern Monday

Phew!  Sorry it's been a while.  I've been busy lately!

First of all, this past weekend was beautiful.  The weather was perfect, the sun was out and the baby was playing outside.  For Mother's Day yesterday, my husband and I planted my garden and then he took my car and washed it inside and out.  It's like a brand new car!  Then we had a bar-b-que get together.  It was a great day.

But...I did miss Free Pattern Friday last week.  So I'm making up for it.

Free Pattern...Monday!  Today's free pattern is the Felted Block Pillow from KnitPicks.

This pillow just looks comfy to curl up with.  I like that this one is not stuffed to it's limit and it would be a little squishy to mold how you want it.  If you have never felted anything before, this would probably be a good project to start with since it doesn't have to be an exact size.  That way if you felt it too much or not enough, it's not a ruined project.

Here's another version.  I'm not sure which color combo I like better!

Since I did Free Pattern Friday on Monday, I'll have to do Monday's Feature on...Tuesday!  :)

I also still have to reveal to Super Secret Project.  I love how it came out, and I hope that you do, too!

Happy Monday!

Free Baby Sweater Pattern for Free Pattern Friday!

Good morning and Happy Friday!  I got a little sidetracked, but the super secret project will be done on time.  :)  The big reveal will be next week!

Meanwhile, it's Free Pattern Friday!  Today's free pattern is another DROPS pattern.  I actually started making this adorable sweater for my little guy and I'll post pictures when it's done.  It's similar to the Elizabeth Zimmerman Suprise Jacket.  I love the fit and it's a lot easier to make than it looks!

It's knit in two pieces, sideways from the cuff of the sleeve in to the center and then seamed down the back and on the sides.  I HATE sewing seams on knitting and crochet and I do everything in my power to avoid it, but this little sweater is just so darn cute that I will sacrifice my sanity for the fininshed product.

I can't wait until it's finished, but it's fun to make because the shape is always changing.

Have a wonderful weekend!!!

Free Pattern Friday - Crochet Baby Blanket

Today's free pattern for Free Pattern Friday is a Speed Hook Baby Blanket from Lion Brand Yarns.  You may have to join the website to view the pattern, but I've never had a problem with them.  You can opt out of the emails if you would like.  There are so many free patterns on their website that I have already used or saved as a favorite that joining was a no brainer for me!

This blanket is just so darn easy, but it looks great!  It's made with a giant crochet hook (and I mean giant.  It's the width of a Magic Marker, maybe bigger) and three strands of yarn held together.  It crochets up fast and is so cozy when it's done!  The blanket in the picture is made with a cotton blend yarn, but this could be made with any type of yarn.  You could even use three different types of yarn held together to create a completely different look!

What's great about this type of pattern is that you could easily make it any size that you wanted.  You just have to change the number of chains that you start with to make it wider or add rows to make it longer.  I'm thinking that I'll have to make a few of these to build up my inventory.  With using three strands of yarn at a time, there are infinate color combinations that could be used.  Just changing one color would completely change the look of a blanket.  I'm excited to try it!  I'll have to make them and post the pictures.  Are there any color combos that you'd like to see?

Happy Friday!!!

Free Pattern Friday with a Simple Shrug

Free pattern Friday!  Why Friday?  It's as good a day as any!  Plus, if you're looking for a project to start over the weekend, maybe this will help!

Today's free pattern is the Simple Shrug from Knit 1 LA

I have this saved in my favorites on Ravelry because I can't wait for a time to make it for myself! This would be great now that we're heading into Spring and Summer (even though the Winter really wasn't all that Wintery). It's just that little something to add for a cool evening on the beach or a walk on a shaded walking trail.  Plus, it's a large knit, so it should be easy to finish fast and who doesn't love instant gratification!

If you do knit this, let me know how it goes!  And, when I knit mine, I'll certainly post pictures!!!

Happy knitting and have a great weekend!!!

Free pattern Wednesday!

I'm always looking for beautiful patterns that I can use either for my own use or for me to make and sell.  In order to sell the finished product from a pattern that's not mine, I have to make sure that the writer/publisher has given permission.  That's part of the reason that I LOVE the patterns from the Drops Design website.  Not only are these patterns absolutely gorgeous, they can all be used to make and sell a finished product.  You just have to list that the pattern came from there.  I can't wait to make some of these designs.  I'm sure that they will sell well on my website.  The best part, though?  They're all free!!!!

I've been on a scarf kick lately, but because it's so hot here lately, I've been on a LIGHTWEIGHT scarf kick.  :)  I was looking thru their patterns yesterday and found a few that I can't wait to make.

I love this one.  The shape is perfect for an accent scarf and I love the stripes.  There is some great sock yarn out there that this pattern would be perfect for.  The whole thing is knit in stockinette stitch and I normally hate how it curls on the sides, but I like how it looks on this scarf.  It adds a nice touch to the shape.  It is knit from side to side and I think it would end up being a quick knit.

There's also this scarf with a beautiful openweave knit.  I think this would be perfect over a sleeveless shirt or tank.  Again it has the triangle shape.  This one is knit from the top down, so you start with a lot of stitches and decrease on the way down.

I love both of these patterns and I can't wait to get started on them!

I'll post pictures as soon as I have them done!

Happy Wednesday!

Free pattern and new collection

Today's free pattern is a mind trip!  I love these baby blankets.  I haven't made one yet, but I think it's coming soon.  It's titled "Op Art" because of the Optical Illusion that it creates to the eye.  It's knit in the round, but ends up (pretty much) square after some blocking.  The illusion is created with specifically placed yarn overs and an increase in the size of the color stripes.

Isn't that cool!  I love how it swirls from the center to create the effect.  I love the black one even more than the pink one!

This would be interesting to knit as the pattern is always creating something new.

The pattern can be found here.

Aside from the pattern, the other topic today is that I was listed in a treasury on Etsy!  It's all different items with the chevron pattern.  My pattern is included for my ripple baby blanket.  Go check it out!  It's a really cool collection with all kinds of different items.

Happy Wednesday!

Free Pattern Monday!

This is a free pattern that I love.  I CAN'T WAIT to knit this vest for my little one.  I just need to get yarn to make it.  I think this is so adorable.

The patterns on this website are outstanding.  I love so many of them and I'm sure that I'll be showcasing a lot of them in the future!

DROPS sleeveless top in ”Merino Extra Fine” with cable pattern.

Plus it comes with the pattern to make the cute little booties, too!!!

Oh my gosh.  I can't wait.

Meanwhile, I listed a few of my own creations just the other day.  Here are a few...

and...
and...

Ok.  That's enough self promoting.  Sorry about that.

Have a good day!

Happy knitting!
