There's always a yarn project running through my head. Sometimes I need to let it out!

New listing Saturday!

Today was a day for new listings!  I had finished 2 new baby blankets last week and finally got the time to take pictures and upload them to Etsy and Artfire!

This one is a yellow, green and white blanket crocheted from a brushed acrylic yarn.  It is crocheted in a shell pattern.  It is so soft!  The compact size would be great for a carseat or stroller blanket.

This one is a blue, brown and white blanket crocheted in a different shell pattern.  This one is so lightweight and comfortable!  It would be great for outside on a summer day or inside when the baby needs just a little something!

Now...if only my baby would arrive, I'd have someone to model these...  soon!!!!

I also created another collection on Artfire of monkeys.  That's to come!

Happy Saturday!

Tea time, not baby time

Well...according to the doctors, today's my baby's due date.  According to the ultrasounds, I still have another 10 days.  They did schedule to induce me next Wednesday if there's still no baby.  I'm ready!  I wish he was.

On a different note, I made a new collection!  I love tea and all of the things that go with it, so yesterday, I decided to make a collection of teapots!  This collection includes actual teapots along with teapot jewelry.

First is this one.

I love the bubbles.  It's very unique and something that you won't find every day.  I love the classic shape, too.

Then there's this.

I love the peacock!  It's very simple, but very different.

And this necklace I think is just adorable!  I would so wear that.

Check out the rest of the collection on Artfire in Tea time!  A beautiful collection of teapots of all sizes!  Drop a note and let me know what you think!

Happy Wednesday!

A sale and another new idea

It's time for a sale!  For two days only, I'm having a sale of my patterns.  if you use the code PATTERN20, you will receive 20% off of my patterns in my ArtFire storeCheck them out!

Other than that, I had an idea to make a bracelet to match the necklaces that I made earlier.  It's a cuff style bracelet with button closure.  I love how it came out!  No pictures yet.  They're coming!  Next, I think I'll crochet some beads into it to really add a nice look.

On another note, the baby's room is closer to being completed!  The rug was put in last night.  It's a lighter brown than I thought it would be and I love it!  With the thick carpet and the padding underneath, it's so thick and squishy!!  The furniture is being put together today and then the decorating starts!!  Fun!!

No pictures of the room (or the bracelet), but here's one of my favorite pictures of my dog!!

Happy Wednesday!

New ideas...crochet necklaces!

Saturday night I spent developing a few new patterns.  I'm loving these.  There are so many things that I can do with these!  Crochet necklaces.  It sounds strange, but I'm loving how they come out.  I've made a few basic ones so far just to get the pattern.  I'm using bamboo/silk yarn that has a great drape.  I started with acrylic, but it was getting a wonky shape to it.  I tried it again with the bamboo/silk and it came out so much better!

This one is a lariat type necklace.

I figure I can add different shapes to the bottom of the chains and also add decoration around the loop that they go thru.  Also if each chain was a different color, that would add some dimension to it.

This one is a choker.

It looks pretty plain in the picture, but it looks a lot better in person.  For this one, it would have a 2 button closure.  I have to find some pretty buttons to go with it.  Also, I thought that a flower attached to this to be worn to the side would be a great addition.  The flower could also be removable, too, to be worn either way.

This one is a basic necklace.

Each circle is an end.  I was having a hard time trying to figure out how to attach it.  The lovely people at ArtFire helped though.  I think that a hook and eye will work the best.  I like the way that it looks with the 2 circles attached, so I wouldn't want a clasp to show.  I think a hook and eye would be perfect.  I just have to make sure that it's not loose and won't fall off.

I can't wait to make more of these.  I love how they came out.  I have to make a few embellishments for them and start wearing them around to get opinions!

What do you think?  Any ideas on embellishments?

Happy Monday!

A few of my favorites for the baby's room!

The baby's due soon!  In setting up his room, we decided on a jungle animals theme.  We found the bedding set and sheets and everything at Babies R Us, the heaven of everything baby.  But to add some decoration to the room, I started looking at handmade items to see what I could find.

First, I found this...

I love those little animals!  Just adorable and would match the room.  So far so good!

Then I found this...

He's a wall cling!  Oh my gosh.  I love him.  He'd be so cute above the crib!

Then there was this...

Perfect!  Everyone says that I will need a clock in the baby's room.

And finally...

Wow!  The letters are actually painted to match our bedding set!

Seriously, I love these all and even if I'm still decorating the room after he comes, these are all first on the list to purchase!

Happy Friday!!!

Free pattern and new collection

Today's free pattern is a mind trip!  I love these baby blankets.  I haven't made one yet, but I think it's coming soon.  It's titled "Op Art" because of the Optical Illusion that it creates to the eye.  It's knit in the round, but ends up (pretty much) square after some blocking.  The illusion is created with specifically placed yarn overs and an increase in the size of the color stripes.

Isn't that cool!  I love how it swirls from the center to create the effect.  I love the black one even more than the pink one!

This would be interesting to knit as the pattern is always creating something new.

The pattern can be found here.

Aside from the pattern, the other topic today is that I was listed in a treasury on Etsy!  It's all different items with the chevron pattern.  My pattern is included for my ripple baby blanket.  Go check it out!  It's a really cool collection with all kinds of different items.

Happy Wednesday!
