There's always a yarn project running through my head. Sometimes I need to let it out!

Easter and featuring Wallaby Bag Co

There was a good time had by all on Easter this year.  Little man looked adorable in his sweater vest.

Lots of family and good food.  It was a good day.  But...the weekend was very busy, and there was no knitting to speak of.

So...today would be a good day to spotlight an Etsy shop.

Today I'll look at one of my favorites.  This is Wallaby Bag Co.  They make covers for IPads, IPods and Kindles.  I love the fabric that they find to make all of their bags.  For example, this one.

I love this!  Now, I have not yet bought one of these cases.  Notice I say yet.  I can't wait to get my hands on one.  They look really well made and look like they protect your electronics really well.

And there's this one.  This fabric is great!  This is a case that is so unique I know that I would always be asked where I got it.

There's also this one.  I've been looking for a case for my Kindle for a while, now, and I think this may be it...

It's padded, scotch-guarded, made to order AND it's CHEAPER than what I would buy in the store!  Love it.

Please let me know if you have bought from them or if I have inspired you to buy from them in the future.

Now...on to something else.

Happy Monday!

Free Pattern Friday with a Simple Shrug

Free pattern Friday!  Why Friday?  It's as good a day as any!  Plus, if you're looking for a project to start over the weekend, maybe this will help!

Today's free pattern is the Simple Shrug from Knit 1 LA

I have this saved in my favorites on Ravelry because I can't wait for a time to make it for myself! This would be great now that we're heading into Spring and Summer (even though the Winter really wasn't all that Wintery). It's just that little something to add for a cool evening on the beach or a walk on a shaded walking trail.  Plus, it's a large knit, so it should be easy to finish fast and who doesn't love instant gratification!

If you do knit this, let me know how it goes!  And, when I knit mine, I'll certainly post pictures!!!

Happy knitting and have a great weekend!!!

New and great things to come!

Wow! It's been a while since I posted last and a lot has changed! The baby is nine and a half months old, I have a new job and a new outlook on life! There are great things to come! What great things, do you ask? Well......

Free patterns! Free, you say? Yes, free. I'd like to start putting up some of my older designs for everyone to share!

Plus, I always seem to be coming up with new ideas for designs, but when it comes time to actually start a new project, I forget what my idea was! Here, I can type my ideas so that I have them in the future, but my readers can also submit their thoughts on my ideas. No stealing!

Maybe once a week, I'd like to review another handmade shop online. Maybe review isn't the right word. Spotlight is more like it. I'll spotlight a shop that I have found where the products are beautiful or unique or that I just plain like it.

Along with submitting my own free patterns, I'd also like to spotlight (I love that word now!) other free patterns that can be found on the web. These may be patterns that I have used in the past or patterns that I want to use in the future or patterns that I may never make that are just darn cool.

Great things!!!

Any ideas that you would like to share with me? Any shops that you would like me to feature? Any patterns that you would like to submit? Let me know!!!!

I can't wait to start this new adventure!

Happy crafting!!

Free pattern Wednesday!

I'm always looking for beautiful patterns that I can use either for my own use or for me to make and sell.  In order to sell the finished product from a pattern that's not mine, I have to make sure that the writer/publisher has given permission.  That's part of the reason that I LOVE the patterns from the Drops Design website.  Not only are these patterns absolutely gorgeous, they can all be used to make and sell a finished product.  You just have to list that the pattern came from there.  I can't wait to make some of these designs.  I'm sure that they will sell well on my website.  The best part, though?  They're all free!!!!

I've been on a scarf kick lately, but because it's so hot here lately, I've been on a LIGHTWEIGHT scarf kick.  :)  I was looking thru their patterns yesterday and found a few that I can't wait to make.

I love this one.  The shape is perfect for an accent scarf and I love the stripes.  There is some great sock yarn out there that this pattern would be perfect for.  The whole thing is knit in stockinette stitch and I normally hate how it curls on the sides, but I like how it looks on this scarf.  It adds a nice touch to the shape.  It is knit from side to side and I think it would end up being a quick knit.

There's also this scarf with a beautiful openweave knit.  I think this would be perfect over a sleeveless shirt or tank.  Again it has the triangle shape.  This one is knit from the top down, so you start with a lot of stitches and decrease on the way down.

I love both of these patterns and I can't wait to get started on them!

I'll post pictures as soon as I have them done!

Happy Wednesday!

Blue Jean Collection and more!

Vacation time...for the rest of my family.  My husband and his family will be on vacation for a week starting tomorrow.  Unfortunately, because I was out of work for 6 weeks with the baby, I don't get to go.  :(  So it's a week without the hubby for me.  Oh well.  My little one makes it worth it.

Meanwhile...I made a new collection!  Titled Blue Jean Baby.  It's all items either made with the color of blue jeans or actual blue jeans!  I love these.  The blue of blue jeans is such a great color to work with.

Take for example this necklace made by WillOaks Studio.  I love the drape and the ribbon adds a beautiful touch.

Then there is this clutch from Nancy's Bags Etc.  I LOVE how they used the buckle from the overall as the closure for the clutch.  So creative!

And this bear made by Crivellobears is absolutely adorable!  I just want to squeeze him!!!

Go check out the collection and leave a comment!

Meanwhile, I'm re-organizing my store and will be updating older listings and adding some fresh new ones!

Happy Friday!

Busy, busy!

Phew!  I've been busy, busy lately!  You never know how much time a newborn takes until you have one!

I love his cheeks (along with everything else about him)!

And alert and just relaxin'!

I haven't had a whole lot of time for myself, but I have finished a few scarves for an order shipping to Australia.  I've also started a new lightweight fashion scarf in my new favorite bamboo/silk yarn.  Here is a picture of the beginning of the scarf.  It's a drop stitch pattern and along with the great drape of the yarn, the scarf is coming out beautifully.

More pictures when it is finished!  And of course there will be more pictures of the babe.

Happy Wednesday!

It's been a while, but...

I have good reason!  My little boy finally arrived!  William Thomas was born on June 20th at 5:57 pm weighing 8 lbs 13 ozs and 21 inches long.  It's been crazy around here lately as I try to get a handle on being a mom, but it's well worth it!

Here he is in the hospital.  Look at those cheeks!

Here he is sleeping with Dad.  They sleep in the same position.

And here he is starting to wake up.

So cute, if I do say so myself.

Not much knitting has been going on lately.  I am working on a new felted bag with a pretty cool closure.  Pictures to come soon.  It's almost done.

Happy Friday!
